PROMISING COLT

G A. WILLIAMS, the Wellsford * owner-trainer, was in Auckland at the beginning of the week and in conversation with “Abaydos stated he left the nomination of his colt Gurmligger at Te Aroha too late. The brother to Gold Dial and Bell D al has gone on the right way since his successful visit to Carterton, and he is particularly pleasing his owner by the resolute manner in which he is accomplishing his work over a journey. All going well in the interim, the son of Gold Bell will make the trip to Hastings in March to take part at the Hawke’s Bay Trotting Clubs annua! fixture, which is being held at a much earlier date this season.
