POLO AT TE AROHA
CAMBRIDGE BEATS WAIHOU From Our Oicn Correspondent TE AROHA, Wednesday. Cambridge and Waihou polo teams played at Te Aroha today for the Abbott Cup, victory g-oing to the former by four goals to two, the challengers thus regaining the trophy won from it by Waihou about two months ago. Cambridge was represented by Blennerhasset, A. and W. Fisher, J. W. Butler; the Waihou team being INI. H. Fitzgerald, T. Hines, A. McNicol and 31. Burke. Play was even on the first chukker, with no score. On resuming, Waihou showed excellent combination. 31cNicol put in a long shot and Hines galloped down field fast and scored . Cambridge rallied. J. Blennerhasset equalised matters by scoring. Carpbridge’s combination resulted in A. Fisher scoring. Then McNicol, for Waihou, registered a clean goal, and just as the bell rang Blennerhasset again scored. Cambridge were the agg>essors in the next chukker, and Alan Fisher was cheered when he again scored and increased Cambridge’s score to 4. In the fifth spell, clever play was shown by McXicol and Hines (Waihou) and Butler and W. Fisher (Cambridge). The two last spells saw strenuous play by both sides. No further scoring resulted, and Cambridge thus won by a margin of two goals. Mr. R. Townsend acted as referee.
