Steel columns are now being erected for the 40th and 41st storeys of the new Bank of the Manhattan Company Building in New York. The building, when completed, will be 65 storeys; 838 feet high. It is the highest in America now under construction. Its completed height of 838 feet will give it a dominance of 30 feet over the Chrysler Building on 42nd Street, and an advantage of 46 feet over the Woolworth Building which is 792 fet high.
