SUNSHINE AND PADDLE-SPLASH

It has been wonderful to have two whole days of sunshine and blue skies, and I have lived in a world of summer seas. On Sunday afternoon we launched the canoe—so smart it is, in a new canvas and painted red. Two pert little Felix cats sit on the sides. We had a wonderful sail —the birds were swimming and diving for small fish all round us and the true summery feel seemed everywhere. Tonight has been very beautiful. The moon is almost full and it is turning the sea to a road stretching away to dim mountains. Far out a boat lingers. I can see the sails faintly brown against the dark. —FLYING CLOUD.
