After calling at Adelaide and Melbourne she is due at Sydney on January 23. KARETU REPORTED.—The Union Company yesterday received a wireless message from the Kai'etu, bound from Sydney to Wellington, reporting that she expects to arrive there at 3 p.m. today. WATERSIDERS’ PICNIC. Although the wharves are open today for w T ork, there is, however, no work being done on any ships owing to the watersiders’ annual picnic, which is taking place at Motuihi. TOFU A RETURNING.—The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the Island passenger steamer Tofua leaves Suva at noon tomorrow for Auckland, where she is expected next Monday morning. RUAHINE DELAYED. —Owing to bad weather at Napier, the departure of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine has been postponed until Friday afternoon. The vessel is now expected to clear the Hawke’s Bay roadstead at 6 p.m. for Southampton and London, via Panama. LUCERIC REPORTS.—Radio advice received by A. S. Paterson and Conipany states that the steamer Luceric is expected to arrive at Auckland on January 25 from Galveston, Texas. The vessel is bringing a cargo of sulphur for discharge at Auckland and Australian ports. SYDNEY STEAMERS. —The Marama leaves Auckland at 3 p.m. on Friday for Svdnev, and the Maunganui sails from -Wellington at the same time. The Ulimaroa clears Sydney at noon on Friday for Auckland. All the three vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning. CHALBURY WITH PHOSPHATES.— ■With a c argo of phosphates for discharge at Auckland and New Plymouth, the steamer Charlbury is due here tomorrow afternoon from Casablanca. Morocco. She will berth at the King’s Wharf and Henderson and Macfarlane will act as the local agents. POOLTA DUE TOMORROW.—Due at Auckland at 6 a.m. tomorrow from Grafton and Newcastle, the Union Company’s steamer Poolta berths at the King’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her hardwoods before proceeding to Tauranga. thence Portland, Wellington, Dunedin, New Plymouth and Greymouth to complete discharge. CANADIAN CONQUEROR TO FILL.— Due at Auckland at five o’clock tomorrow afternoon from Wellington, the Canadian Conqueror will berth at the King’s Wharf, where she will complete her loading. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel from here on Friday evening for New York, Boston and Halifax, via Panama.

COPTIC DUE MONDAY NEXT.—According to advice received by A. S. Paterson and Company, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motor-ship Coptic is to leave Suva tomorrow for Auckland, where she is due next Monday. The vessel is bringing London cargo for discharge at Auckland, Dunedin and Wellington. MITTELMEER DUE TO-MORROW.— Due at Auckland tomorrow afternoon from San Pedro, the tanker Myittelmeer, which is bringing bulk oil for the Atlantic Union Oil Company, will berth at the Western Wharf. After discharge here the vessel proceeds to ’Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney to complete. Henderson and Macfarlane will act as the local agents. CANADIAN HIGHLANDER DOCKS TOMORROW.—It is expected that the Canadian Highlander will dock tomorrow afternoon to have a new blade fitted to .her propeller. Effors are to be made to dispatch the vessel from Auckland on Pridav evening for Wellington, Lyttelton, 1 imaru and Dunedin to complete her discharge of Canadian cargo. SURREY TO LOAD.—Leaving Waikokopu at 10 o clock this evening for Auckland, the Federal steamer Surrey is due here tomorrow night, and will berth at the Queen’s Wharf to complete her load- ¥}£ under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. Efforts are to be made to dispatch the vessel finally from this pmt on January 21 for New York, Halifax and London, via Panama. ANGLO-CANADIAN TO LOAD. —The George H. Scales Company, Wellington, advises that the motor-ship Anglo-Can-adian arrived at Port Pirie on Friday afternoon to load a part cargo of wheat, prior to coming to New Zealand to load wool for Dunkirk, London and Hull. The vessel’s coastal itinerary has not been fixed yet. The Anglo-Canadian was built toward the end of 1928 by Short Bros., Ltd., Sunderland, for her owners, the Nitrate Products S.S. Co., Ltd.. London. Her motor engines are by W. Doxford and Sons, Ltd., Sunderland. The. Anglo-Canadian’s principal dimensions are: 5,268 tons gross; 3.246 tons not; dead-weight cargo-carrying capacity. 3 0.000 tons; length. 426 feet; beam, 58 feet; depth, 24.7 feet.

PASSENGERS ON RANGITANE.— Among the passengers travelling by the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motor-liner Rangitane, which is on her maiden voyage, and is due at Wellington from Southampton on January 25, are:— Major-General Sir Thomas Garr, K.C.M.G., C. 8., Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Emmanuel Hoyle and Lady Hoyle, Captain and Mrs. S. S. Porritt, Mr. G. A. C. Elkington, Mr. J. T. Grose, general manager of the National Bank of New Zealand; Admiral M. P. O’Callaghan, Mrs. Stanton Harcourt and Mr. W. O. Campbell. DURENDA IN PORT.- The 8.1. motorship Durenda arrived at Auckland this morning from Calcutta, via Singapore and Sydney, and later berthed at the Queen’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo under the agency of the Union Company. The vessel left Calcutta on December 10 and experienced good weather throughout the whole voyage. Captain C. E. Parkes is in command of the Durenda, and has the following officers with him:—Chief, Mr. F. E. Liles; second, Mr. O. H. Pulman; third, Mr. C. F. O'Kill; purser, Mr. G. E.
