MAN’S PAINFUL RIDE

LEG BROKEN BY HORSE Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. With his left leg broken by a kick from a horse, James Benjamin, who gives his address at Slater Road, Avondale, Auckland, climbed on the horse's back and rode a mile to the Karepota Sawmill settlement, about 10 miles from Upper Hutt, for assistance. He was taken to Wellington by ambulance. Benjamin is reported to be doing quite well. His leg has been set in plaster. The man chose to ride with his painful injury on an unfriendly horse in preference to the delay of waiting to be found.
