RANGITOTO ISLAND A probable relic of the days when it was proposed to utilise Rangitoto Island for a convict, settlement has been unearthed by officers of the Lands Department, who have discovered documents reserving part of the island, on the Islington Bay Side, as Crown land. The department has now authorised the merging of this area in the Rangitoto Domain.
