MAN AND WIFE SHOT
TRAGEDIES IN SYDNEY SUBURB QUARREL ENDS IN DEATH SYDNEY, Monday. Shooting tragedies occurred in two Sydney suburbs this afternoon. At Enfield, Frederick Evenden, aged 35, and his wife Edith, aged 27, were walking in the Kembla Road when someone fired a revolver at them. Mrs. Evenden was wounded by a bullet In the chest and the husband was wounded in one arm. The condition of the woman is critical. The police later visited a house at Burwood, where they found Thomas Johnstone, aged 38, with a bullet wound in his mouth. He is not expected to recover. William Plumb, aged 40, a carpenter, his wife, Irene, aged 26, and their daughter, aged 2i, were all found with bullet wounds in their heads at their home at Summerhill. Plumb and his wife died this evening, and the child is in a critical condition. The tragedy was the outcome of domestic troubles. The police say Plumb shot his wife and child and then committed suicide. Later. Reed. 11.10 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Thomas Jarvis died in the hospital. The infant Plumb is in a very low condition.
