TRADE AGREEMENTS
PROMOTION OF EMPIRE * DEALINGS MEN OF COMMERCE TO CONFER Reed. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Monday. The Federation of the Chambers of Commerce Congress, which is to be held at Guildhall in May, is receiving unprecedented support, both in Great Britain and the Dominions as it immediately precedes the Imperial Conference. It is hoped the influence of its decisions will result in the promotion of inter-imperial trade which is the chief object of the congress. It is understood the next congress is to be in New Zealand in 1933. Sir Gilbert Vyle, on behalf of the British Preparatory Committee for the Imperial Conference, has sent a letter to the presidents of industrial, commercial, financial, shipping, and agricultural organisations throughout the Empire, pointing out that the Association of British Chambers of Commerce, the Federation of British Industries, and the Chambers of Shipping in the United Kingdom, have formed a preparatory committee in order, if possible, to agree On a policy for recommendation to the British Government and the Imperial Conference.
