Stage Set for New Act in Samoa Drama
CRUISER ARRIVES LANDING OF MARINES The arrival of H.M.S. Dunedin, the declaration of the Mau as a seditious organisation, and the landing of marines sets the stage for a new act in the Samoan drama. Special to Press Association.—By Radio. Reed. 10.20 a.m. APIA, Monday. A proclamation, under Saturday’s Order-in-Council, issued today, declares the Mau a seditious organisation. The warship Dunedin arrived yesterday, carrying a seaplane and further police. A wireless post has been established at Mulifanua, 24 miles from Apia. Parties landed today and proceeded westward to Saleimoa, 11 miles away, where the majority of the Mau is believed to be located.
Police posts at Apia, Leulumaega, and Mulifanua, have been reinforced by marines. —'
