GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD
The fortnightly meeting of the Glen Eden Town Board was held last evening, Mr. F. W. Martin presiding. On account of several complaints being made concerning passengers having to wait an hour for a bus, when motor-cycle races are held at Western Springs, it was decided to get into touch with the Auckland Motor-bus Company, and ask that the time-table be adhered to.
The water scheme has been approved, and authority to raise a loan of £IO,OOO is to be sought from the Local Bodies’ Loans Board. About 30 notices to clear noxious weeds were issued. It was decided to issue circulars to offenders. I-n the meantime, the clerk is to notify them that the board will do the necessary work and charge them with the cost. The chairman said he was sorry such a step was necessary. A refuse heap in Brandon Road was referred to as an eyesore, and it was decided to have it removed. Croydon Road and side roads are to benefit by an additional 20 shards G f metal.
The City Council and other truckowners are to be notified that excessive loads must not be carried over the West Coast Road.
The question of the extension of Waima Road, which is to be metalled, was referred to the works committee.
