PERABO FOR AUCKLAND

WILL RIDE AT BLANDFORD PARK The next meeting will be staged on the cinders at Blandford Park on Wednesday, January 22. A boxing match has been arranged in the City for Monday next and the management, not wishing to clash with any other popular sports fixture, decided to hold the meeting on a night later in the week. One Australian rider already in the Dominion will appear at Blandford Park next week. He is Charlie Perabo, who has been riding on the Monica Park track in Christchurch during the last few weeks against such broadsiders as Sid Perkins. Perabo was well known on the cinders in Australia last season. LEVEL CROSSING AT PUTARURU The Automobile Association recently made rep- mentations to the Railway Department with regard to improved visibility on the main Rotorua line just beyond Putaruru. The General Manager of Railways, Mr. H. H. Sterling, has now advised that in conjunction with the Highways Board a scheme for the elimination of this crossing is being prepared and it is hoped that in the next financial year the work will be completed.
