MAN DIES AT SEA

PASSENGER TO AUCKLAND Press Association WELLINGTON, Monday. The Taimu, which arrived today in Wellington from Southampton, experienced the full force of the gale which caused much havoc to shipping off the coast of England early in December. For a period of five days she averaged only eight knots, being frequently liove-to. The wind sometimes reached a velocity of 105 miles an hour. Huge seas crashed over the bow, damaging the fittings, but with the exception of a twist in the main steam pipe, she suffered practically no structural damage.

Three days ago Mr. R. King, of Auckland, a cabin passenger, died and was buried at sea. He had been in ill-health for some time.
