WAITEMATA’S CARNIVAL THIS EVENING Important rac«s are listed in the programme for the Waitemata Amateur Swimming Club’s carnival this evening at the Tepid Baths. In tiie Auckland 880 yards championship, David Lindsay, holding the national fresh-water times, will attempt to lower Gordon Bridson’s saltwater record. Miss Gladys Pidgeon, the best women’s breast-stroke swimmer New Zealand has produced, is returning to the sport after retirement for two seasons. She will race in a handicap ©vent. Curtayne (North Shore), J. Withers (Parnell), R. Porteous (Mount Eden), and H. Mcßae (North Shore).
