LEAGUE TOURISTS
AUSTRALIANS ENTERTAINED IN LONDON TEAM FOR THIRD TEST Reed. 1 p.m. LONDON, Monday. At the Rugby League dinner to the Australians, held at Leeds, F. Mattinson, proposing the toast of the tourists, said the team had not disclosed a weak spot. Gorman was the finest captain he had ever seen. England hoped to secure the ashes. The problem would be settled at Rochdale for sure. Whichever team lost would do so with good grace. Mr. Sunderland, manager of the Australians, replying, said although the reduced prices had affected the receipts, a record number had watched the games. He hoped the popularisation of the game in London ikould enable it to be the national sport when next the Australians visited England. Mr. Dargan said the tourists were returning with the happiest memories of the friendship and kindness, both oft and on the field. The team for the last test Is McMillan, Shankland, Fifield, Gorman, Spencer, Laws, Busch, Kingston, Treweeke, Armbruster, Brogan, Justice, and Steinohrt.
