IN TRIAL rnn SUB'S Special Reporter / KAITAIA, Today. • A strong wind off the sea caused »*hrman ‘'Wizard” Smith not to attempt his attack on the world's motor speed record over ten miles at Ninety Mile Beach this afternoon. * Smith, in a trial run over the bourse, found that the wind was causing hit. car, "Anzac,” to heel over. «.« managed, however, to reach a *peed of 110 miles an hour on this run. The difficulty in navigation resulting from the effect of the wind made the delaying of the attempt advisable. “Wizard” Smith hopes to make his attempt tomorrow. M. Marchand hold the record with 133.51 miles an fcour.
