FIJIAN EDUCATION
N.Z. TEACHER APPOINTED Sailing for Suva by the Aorangi le morrow will be Mr. L. O. Morgan, th new headmaster of the Fijian Government Provincial School at Lcdini, Tailevu Province, Fiji. The appointment was made unit: an arrangement under which the Fijit Government obtains all its head scioo. teachers, from the New Zealand Education Department. The institution of which Mr. Mona: will have charge is a boarding sets’ at which sons of chiefs and liigt class natives are educated. A farm is 1 attached and agriculture is an impor ant subject of the curriculum. The new appointee is a son of Hr E. Morgan, of Onehunga. He served in the Great War and on returning to Xew Zetland in 1919 took up primary school teaching. He spent a year will the Victorian Education Departmeo under the system of exchange teachers in 1928. He subsequently *as first assistant at Te Awamutu HigfSchool and latterly was head teacif at Motuhora, near Gisborne.
