CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB The Metropolitan Gun Club held a series of shoots at its grounds at New Lynn on Saturday. No. 1 match, seven birds, sweepstake, was won by D. Stoupe (12yds), P. N. Gallie (15yds) and C. E. Hodge (19yds) each shooting the possible and dividing the stakes. No. 2 match of 15 birds, for a trophy presented by Mr. A. E. Macredie and a sweepstake, resulted as follows: —W. Andreas (11yds), 15; C. E. Hodge (19yds), 14: W. Turner (16yds), W. H. Hazard (15yds), H. E. Knight (14yds), P. N. Gallie (16yds), 13. Andreas not_being a member was not eligible for the trophy, but took first prize money in the sweep.-* C. E. Hodge took the trophy and second money. Turner, Hazard, Knight and Gallie divided third money. No. 3 match. a ten birds sweepstake,, all off 18yds, resulted as follows: —A.* E. Macredie, possible. 1; D. Stoupe and C. E. Hodge, 9 each, 2. No. 4 match, 7-bird sweepstake, all off IS yards, was won by A. E. Macredie, with the possible. No. 5 match, 7-bird sweeptsake, all off IS yards, went to C. E. Hodge, with the possible. The next shoot will be held on January 29, when the club championship and annual picnic will also take place.
