ENGLISH CUP KNOCKOUTS COMPETITION PROPER STARTS The competition proper for the English Cup, when all the clubs previously ; exempted were included in the draw, started on Saturday. There was a { big invasion of London by Soccer enthusiasts. the seven ties there attracting 250.000 spectators. Surprises were not quite so sensational as usual, but some very prominent clubs met with sudden death in their first game. Last i year's winners. Bolton Wanderers, went 1 out. and both Manchester clubs have no furthr interest. Spurs gaining a great victory over Manchestei city. T ork created a surprise by drawing with Xewrastle United, and Wrexham knocked out UVest Bromwich Albion. Tlie next round will be placed on January 25. the results, which are given in a cablegram from Londur, dated Satur- I day, are as follow: THIRD ROUND.
