CAR IMPALED ON RAlL.—Carrying away a section of the fence at the foot of Hackthorne Road, Christchurch, this car dived over a 16-foot bank and impaled itself on the wooden rail below. One of the occupants, Captain G. L. Brown, N.Z.S.C., suffered a terribly crushed leg.
