SUGAR COMPANY’S PICNIC
SPORTS AT PINE ISLAND The employees of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company held their annual picnic on Saturday at Pine Island, when about 650 people made the trip on ferry steamer Kestrel. Keen interest was taken in the sports programme. The children were well catered for in lollies, toys, and ice cream. Burnnand’s Band enlivened the day with popular music, which was greatly appreciated. Following are the sports results:— 100 Yds Handicap.—R. Harkins, 1; H. Taylor, 2: J.
