FINE WEATHER FOR HOLIDAYS Press Association HASTINGS, Saturday. After a spell of glorious wtatlier through the Christmas and New Year holidays, rain commenced to fall last Wednesday evening, and up till 9 a.m. today the phenomenal record of 10.55 inches has been registered at Maraetotara, a coastal settlement near Cape Kidnappers. At Hastings, a few miles inland, there has been no abnormal fall, the gauges registering only 2.77 inches for the same period.
