FUR MARKET POOR
CHINCHILLA RABBITS SLOW SALES IN LONDON Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. G. A. Forbes, states that in connection with, the market for Chinchilla rabbit skins, the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London has advised the Government that, at a recent sale of rabbitskins in London, about 40,000 Chinchilla skins were offered by the HudsoT#' Bay Company, and only about 18,000 were sold. In sympathy with all other furs, prices for Chinchillas have fallen to a considerable extent, the prices realised for the quantity sold being: Firsts, Is 5d to 3s each; seconds, 6d to Is 6d each; thirds, 6d to 9d each. Most of the skins in the parcel offered were of European origin, but a few came from America, the former being ratl+er a better quality than the latter.
