Dear Sir s, My 1928 Oldsmobile Sedan has now travelled 12,120 miles and has been in operation for exactly 12 months on taxi work in Auckland City. During this time the car has had no mechanical attention whatsoever other than the usual running adjustments. The tyre mileage has been exceptionally high. This is evidenced by the fact that the two front tyres in use are the original ones and will do a further 1,500 miles, while the two rear original ones have only just been retreaded. It is my practice to change the engine oil frequently and I have noticed that little or none at all is used.
