WATERSIDE WORKERS’ PICNIC.— The waterside workers in Auckland will hold their annual picnic on Wednesday and no cargo work will be done on vessels in port that day.

PORT CAMPBELL SAILS TUESDAY. —The departure of the C. and D. liner Port Campbell from Wellington for London. via Panama Canal, has been postponed till Tuesday night.

PORT HUNTER AT LONDON. —Cabled news has been received by the C. and D. Line that the Port Hunter, arrived at London on Wednesday from Wellington. She left Wellington on November 29. Her wool has arrived Home in time for - the January sales. ROTORUA LEAVES COLON.— The New Zealand Shipping Company is in receipt of cabled advice that the Rotorua arrived at Colon on Monday from Liverpool, and sailed again on Tuesday for New Zealand ports. She is due at Auckland on January 26. CANADIAN CHALLENGER AT COLON. —Reported to have reached Colon on Wednesday, the Canadian National steamer Canadian Challenger is en route from Halifax to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. Timaru and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about February 8. MAKURA FROM SAN FRANCISCO.— With passengers, mail and cargo from San Francisco, Papeete and Rarotonga, the Royal Mail liner Makura is due at Wellington early on Monday morning. She ‘is to resume her voyage to Sydney on Tuesday. SALTERSGATE SAILING. The steamer Saltersgate was undocked this morning after having her hull cleaned and painted. She is to leave this afternoon for Westport, where she bunkers before proceeding to Nauru Island to load phosphates for Australia. AORANGI DUE MONDAY. —EarIy Monday morning the Union Company’s R.M.M.S. Aorangi is due at Auckland from Sydney. About 8.30 a.m. she will berth at the Prince’s Wharf to land passengers and mails and to pick up her cargo. She is scheduled to leave Auckland at 11 a.m. next Tuesday for Suva, Honolulu, Victoria, and Vancouver. MATAROA POSTPONED. L. D. Nathan and Company has been advised that owing to the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Mataroa being delayed at Napier by bad weather, tne departure of the vessel has been postponed. The Mataroa is now scheduled to leave Wellington finally on Friday, January 17, at daybreak for Southampton and London, via Panama. WAIRUNA OMITS AU CK LAN D.— The local office of the Union Company advises that the cargo steamer Wairuna, which was to come to Auckland for docking, will now omit this port. The vessel left Wellington yesterday for Napier and leaves that port next Saturday for Fiji, where she loads sugar for Vancouver. CANADIAN CONQUEROR TO FILL UP. —Advice was received yesterday by the local office of the Canadian National Steamships that owing to rain at Wellington, the steamer Canadian Conqueror would omit Napier coming north. The vessel is to leave Wellington today and is due here on Tuesday to complete her loading for New York, Boston and Halifax. She berths at the King’s Wharf. PORT DUNEDIN LOADING.— The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Dunedin will leave Wellington on Tuesday for Picton to complete discharge of her cargo of timber. She is to commence loading at Picton on January 23, and will subsequently load also at Port Chalmers, Wellington and Auckland. The vessel is to sail finally from Auckland on February 5 for Halifax and London. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. —The New Zealand Shipping ©ompany advises that the following vessels, tinder charter to the A. and A. Line, are timed to leave New York:— Otaki, on January 10 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Winton, on February 5. for Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, and Australian ports. City of Lincoln, on February 15, for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wanganui. City of Winnipeg, on March 10, for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Pipiriki, on March 23. for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin.

POOLTA LEAVES NEWCASTLE.— Cabled news lias been received by the Union Company that the Poolta, from Grafton, left Newcastle at 8 p.m. on Wednesday for Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Dunedin, New Plymouth and Greymouth. She is due at Auckland on Tuesday. GABRIELLA WITH TlMßEß.—Having left Port Stephens last Tuesday for Auckland, the Lamb steamer Gabrielja is due here on Monday afternoon. She will berth at the Central Wharf to unload her cargo of Australian hardwoods under the agency of the Northern Company. CHALBURY’S BERTH.—Although no radio has yet been received by Henderson and Macfarlane from the steamer Chalbury, the vessel is expected to arrive here on Tuesday from Casablanca, Morocco. The vessel is bringing a cargo of phosphates for discharge at Auckland, New Plymouth and Wanganui. She will berth at the King’s Wharf. RANGITI KI’S VOYAGE.—Advice was received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company that the actual time taken for the motor-liner Rangitiki to go Home from Wellington to Southampton was 325 days, including the usual stop at Panama. The vessel left Wellington on December 7 and arrived at Southampton on January 9. DURENDA LEAVES SYDNEY.—According to cable advice received by the lpcal office of the Union Company, the chartered steamer Durenda, en route from Calcutta and Singapore, left Sydney at 11 a.m. yesterday for Auckland and Wellington. The. vessel is due here next Wednesday morning. TOFUA RETURNING.—Advice was received yesterday that the Union Company’s Island passenger steamer Tofua arrived at Apia, Samoa, at 6 a.m. on Thursday, and left again last evening for Suva and Auckland. She is due at Suva on Tuesday and at this port on Monday week. LARGO LAW FROM ANTWERP. — With a cargo of basic slag from Antwerp for discharge at New Zealand ports, the steamer Largo Law left Dakar, French West Africa, on January 1, en route for Auckland, according to cable advice. Shortly after the vessel left Antwerp she had to put into Falmouth for repairs to her steering gear. INDIEN ARRIVES.—-At 10.20 o’clock this morning the Danish motor-ship Indien arrived in the stream at Auckland from Los Angeles. Later she berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to Wellington, thence Sydney to complete discharge. The vessell is under charter to the Union Company. CANADIAN HIGHLANDER DUE TOMORROW.—Tomorrow afternoon the Canadian National Steamship’s steamer Canadian Highlander is due at Auckland from Halifax according to her radio advice. She will berth at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion before proceeding to "Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin to complete discharge. AUSTRALIND FROM NEW YORK.New York cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia, the A. and A. Line’s chartered motor-ship Australindt is due here at midday next Tuesday from Suva She has been allotted a berth at the Queen s Wharf, and the New Zealand Shipping Company will act as the local agent.

TOKOHIKO MARU DUE MONDAY.— With Japanese sulphur and oak for discharge at Auckland, Wanganui, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, the Japanese steamer Tokohiko Maru is due here on Monday morning from Muroran, Japan, according to a radio message received by A S. Paterson and Company. The vessel has been allotted a berth at the King’s Wharf.

CORNWALL’S ITINERARY.-The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal steamer Cornwall, which is completing discharge at New Plymouth, commences loading there, and will sail on Monday afternoon to load at. Wanganui and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on January 18, and will leave' there on January 21 for Gisborne, Napier and Auckland. The vessel will sail finallv from Auckland on February 6 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Panama Canal.

MATAKANA FOR AUSTRALIA.— Cabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the Matakana left London on Tuesday afternoon with general cargo to discharge at Australian ports. The vessel will subsequently come to New Zealand to take the March loading for Home. SYDNEY STEAMERS.—The Ulimaroa sailed from Wellington at 12.15 p.m. yesterday for Sydney, and the Marama and the Maunganui both left the New South Wales port at 3 p.m. for Auckland and Wellington respectively. All the three vessels are due at their arrival ports next Tuesday morning. The Marama has been allotted a berth at the Central Wharf. i B LAG S HI PM EN TS.—Something like 60,000 tons of basic slag is due in New .Zealand during the next few months. 4he New Zealand Shipping Company has arranged to carry 34,000 tons, and the balance will come by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s steamers, and the C. and D. Line. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises the following vesvels have left or are to leave with slag for New Zealand:— LARGO LAW left Antwerp on December 5, Dakar on December 30 for Auckland and New Plymouth, and is due here toward the end of this month. RANGITANE left London December 19 and Southampton on December 20 for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on January 25 and at Auckland a week later. WINTON left Antwerp January 3, via New York, for Auckland, and is due here early in March. SINNINGTON COURT is to leave Antwerp today for Auckland, where she is due early in March. R EMU ERA leaves London January 16 and Southampton January 17 for Auckland. Dunedin and Bluff, and is due here on February 24. WEST MOOR leaves Ghent on January 22 for Auckland, where she is due about the middle of March. RUAPEHU leaves Antwerp February 12 for Auckland and Wellington, and should reach here early in April. The Shaw, SavilVand Albion Company’s MAM ILI US left Antwerp on December 20 for Auckland, and is due here on [ February 6.
