SUPER-CRICKET
Don Bradman’s Brilliant Record RAPID RISE TO FAME Don Bradman’s colossal world's record score of 452 not out follows on a galaxy of brilliant three-figure innings in Australian cricket. Bradman last season made three centuries in two matches in succession,
and almost made four —131 and 133 not out against Queensland, and 87 and .132 not out against England, following with 58 not out against England. This bright-eyed youth has done even better in his latest matches, for lie made 157 against the M.C.C. team, and 124 and 225 in the Australian Eleven Trial before compiling his huge score a few days ago. Both this season and last, he reached his thousand runs for the season. Only a year or so ago he was comparatively unknown outside the small •own of Bowral (.X.S.W.), where a succession of astonishing three-figure knocks in local cricket presently attracted the attention of the “heads” in Sydney. Since then, he has gone from triumph to triumph. As Woodfull is typical of the dour, determined cricket f Victoria, so this nuggetty colt demonstrates the brilliant, aggressive batting that has made Sydney famous as a cricketing centre the world over.
