In sixteen days, according to the mile meters on their bicycles, they travelled 1,148 miles, reaching as far north as Dargaville. Returning south they cycled through Auckland to e Aroha, 1 aupo, Napier, Hastings, and home to Ashhurst. During this long trip they spent only four or five nigHts under a roof, usually sleeping in the open or making the most of any shelter that offered. The only sleeping gear they carried was an overcoat and a pair of long trousers each, the remainder of their packs consisting of changes of clothing and a few cooking utensils. They had an adventurous and delightful holiday awheel—a holiday such as you, too, can have if you ride one of our Monarch Special Cycles. How you will enjoy spinning along highways and byways seeing the everchanging landscape—feeling the wind in your face—resting at mid-day in the bush or by a stream —and sleeping like a child after the day’s long run! And the Cycle—how swift and light it is, how sure and safe no other vehicle possesses so good a combination of qualities. After the holiday is over, your Cycle will still prove useful. It will carry you quickly to and from your work and save car or bus fares. It will also save time in emergencies, in running errands, or in taking you to your favourite sports grounds. And the cost will hardly be missed—just 3/6 per week. Decide to get a Cycle NOW. If you cannot call at our warehouse, just write saying: “Please send me a Monarch Special Roadster Cycle on Seven Days’ Trial.” The machine Will be forwarded, FREIGHT PAID, to your nearest port or station.
