Mr. James Fletcher arrived by the Limited today. Sir Henry Beauchamp, chairman of directors of the Bunk of .Now Zealand, arrived in Auckland by the Limited express this morning. Mr. M. J« Christie, Auckland manager *of the National Mortgage and Agency Company. Ltd., returned from the South this morning. Mrs. B. Lee Cowio leaves for Melbourne by the Marama on January 17. She intends participating in the Victorian local option liquor poll campaign. Captain C. N. Reyne, R.N., formerly Naval Chief of fcStafi at Wellington, has *bef»n appointed ser ior officer of the Reserve Fleet at the Nore, with headquarters in H.M.S. Shakespeare. Messrs. G. H. Powles, W. J. Mountjoy and \V. J. Hall, members of the Victorian University College debating team who have had a very successful lour of Canada and the United States of America, will return to Wellington on Monday by the Makura. Mr. H. B. Buchanan, formerly sales manager for the Bristol Piano Company, Ltd., Auckland, will succeed Mr. r, Harvey as manager of the firm’s Hamilton branch, and will commence his new duties there shortly.
