Walker, act ing-coroher, a »X<t a jury, into the circumstances surrounding: the death of Albert Stareeve, who died as a result of injuries received when he fell from • a bus on: January 8. I>r. Tlule. assistant medical superintendent, Whangarei • Hospital, said the deceased was admitted to the institution in an unconscious condition. There were no external injuries, but his condition was consistent with con- j cusslon. He sank steadily into a deep state of coma, and died at 9.45 a.m. j on January 8. Death was due to coma and heart failure. J. Read, accountant, Whangarei, said I>* saw the bus coming slowly down Rank Street. Deceased fell through the door on his back, striking His head heavily on the pavement. Arthur A. Parker, bus driver, said Shreeve entered his bus and went to a rear seat, but .when the bus moved off he came to the front, and lost his balance at the door. Witness considered Shreeve was under the influence j of liquor. Constable J. Norris identified the body as that of Albert Slireeve, a j labourer, aged GO. of Kamo. He was an unnaturalised German. The Jury returned a verdict that ! Shreeve met his death on January 8 •is a result of injuries received by a I fall from a bus. no blame being attach- j able to anyone.
