The Citizens’ Committee wrote asking the council to appoint delegates to attend a conference of local bodies to consider establishing an aerial port at Tauranga. Crs. Whiting, Newsham and Ivory were appointed. The Tauranga Tobacco and Citrus Company’s offer to sell land was declined. * * * A troop of Boy Scouts from Matamata passed through Tauranga on their way to Motiti Island, where they are holding their annual camp. * * * The Tauranga Scouts are holding their camp on Mr. MacMillan’s farm at Katikati. They went into camp on Friday and were unfortunate enough to meet with the heavy rain last Saturday. However, Mr. MacMillan provided shelter, and since then everything has been ideal.
