REPEAL OF BRITISH ACT MOOTED MORE INDEPENDENCE LONDON, Wednesday. It is understood that the main recommendation of the Commission in Imperial Legislation is the repeal of the Colonial Laws Validity Act and the substitution of legislation to render Acts passed by the British Parliament non-operative in a Dominion except with that Dominion’s consent. The diplomatic correspondent of the “Morning Post” calls attention to this. He expresses the opinion that if the recommendation should become operative each Dominion would be enabled to pass its own shipping Acts, fly its own flag and have its own mercantile ; marine.
