GAOL FOR YOUTH SEQUEL TO JOY RIDE From Our Oicn Correspondent WHANGAREI, Today. In the Whangarei Magistrate’s Court this morning Ernest Lowe, of Auckland, together with three Whangarei youths, was charged with the theft of three motor tubes and three pounds of butter of a total value of £ 1 15s 6d. It was stated that Lowe bought a car at Auckland and came to Whangarei. The police were informed of thefts at Kiripaka. ana on arrival at the scene found the accused. Two stolen tubes were on Lowe’s own car, and he was putting on the third. It was then discovered he had also stolen the butter from a settlers cream can. He was arrested and brought to Whangarei. Lowe was convicted on both charges and sentenced to three months m Mount Eden gaol. Tl*e two others were convicted and ordered to pay costs of the tubes and butter, £1 los bd. and the third was convicted and discharged.
