UNEMPLOYED TRADESMEN

MR. SAVAGE WIRES PRIME MINISTER “CAN ANYTHING BE DONE?” The following telegram has been i sent to the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph | Ward, by Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P. for Auckland West: “I regret to say that the number of unemployed in Auckland is again increasing rapidly. Prior to the lioli--1 days a number of skilled tradesmen, including carpenters, were discharged from the Otahuhu Railway Workshops. These men are still unemployed, and there appears to be little chance of , obtaining work in the ordinary way. It" also appears that men who were found temporary employment toward the end of last year are again unemployed. resulting in serious hardship to their families. Can anything be done , to relieve the position?”
