THREATS AFTER FIGHT
BROTHERS AT VARIANCE ONE FACES COURT From Our Own Correspondent THAMES, Monday. Muttered threats after a brothers’ fight, and an explosion on a launch shortly afterward, led, to the appearance of Lou Colquohun before the Mercury Bay Magistrate's Court on a charge of committing mischief and using obscene language. Sergeant McNamara, Thames, who prosecuted, said that the brothers Lou and Percy Colquohun had a fight. Lou got the worst of the encounter and threatened vengeance on his brother. Later on in the evening an explosion occurred on Percy Colquohun’s launch. Circumstances pointed to the brother being implicated in the Mr. Quilliam, Napier, defended the accused, and brought evidence showing that accused was unable to row a boat on account of injuries received in the fight. The Bench dismissed the charge ot mischief, but fined accused £5 l'or obscene language and prohibited him and admitted him to probation for 12 months.
