The performance of Miss Peggy Robertson, of Parnell, in the woman’s sprint events, will attract notice, as Miss Robertson is confidently expected by some to be New Zealand’s next woman champion. She will be faced • by Miss Joan Roberts, Miss Marie Far- j ciuhar, who is returning to the sport, j and Miss Lila Coutts. Miss May Elworth and Miss Billie Anderson of North Shore, and Miss Marjorie Smith, of Mount Eden, will be prominent in the races for girls. The Ponsonby swimmer, A W. Haper, may be Auckland’s next sprint champion, as J. P. Farrell, of University, the present title-holder, will r.ot compete under medical advice. Farrell and Rapor are expected to represent Auckland at Greymouth The veteran, J. Enwright. of Waitemata, and R. Porteous, of Mount Eden, arc a likely pair.

WATER POLO SURPRISE PARNELL BADLY BEATEN The heavy defeat of Parnell at the hands of the Waitemata A seven at. writer polo played at the Tepid Bali.s last evening was a surprise. Waitemata, although it was recognised as a formidable force on account of its series of wins this season, was not expected to secure a clear-cut win of live goals to nil. Waitemata set up a strong attach from the start, and Jack .Enwright .-cored a tine goal titter a hard tussle outside Parnell's goal. After this Parnell was rattled badly by the organised attacks of Waitemata. Enwright showed proof of his reputation as possibly the best scoring player in water polo in Auckland by scoring three excellent goals before the interval. A goal was also added by Hedges. Play was slower in the second half, and neither side scored. Parnell improved its defence considerably. Grammar gained a win from Xoi-tn ghore bv two goals to nil. .Norte. rUicre was mainly on the defensive. In the first halt 1). S.
