FIRST DAY AT THAMES A PRELIMINARY REVIEW ! The next fixture to attract inter*,, is the popular fixture ot the Thami. Jockey Club, to be held at the course at Parawai, Thames, on Thurs* day and Saturday next. Very good acceptances have been re eeived for the opening day. so that with 114 horses engaged then thera should be plenty’ of runners for the two days. The course is reported to be in splendid order, the recent rains having provided plenty of growth and a thick sole of grass. * The final summing-up of the p ro gramme for Thursday’s racing will be provided in tomorrow's issue.
