DRUNKEN SEAMAN FINED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Harbouring resentment toward the chief officer of the steamer Herminius over a point of discipline some months ago, Frederick Gardner, aged 47, a member of the crew, went to his cabin on Saturday while under the influence of liquor, used obscene language and struck the chief officer. He appeared in the Wellington Police Court today and was fined £3 and costs, or three days’ imprisonment.
