SLEEPING IN DOMAIN

VAGRANT MUST LEAVE TOWN On the condition that he leaves town today for Whangarei, where he says he has work, Francis Kelly, who was convicted of vagrancy at the Police Court this morning, was given another chance. Kelly, a labourer, aged 52. was charged with being idle and disorderly, having insufficient visible means of support. "I can’t say that’s altogether right. I’ve work to go to,” ! he said. Detective Packman said he had arrested accused in the Domain in the early hours of the morning. He was sleeping in an outhouse and had no money. Staff-Captain Holmes, of the Salvation Army, said he would see the man left for Whangarei immediately, so Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., convicted him and ordered him to come up for sentence when called upon. “You’ll be all right if you get away today,” said the magistrate. “You must have a list, or you wouldn’t have been brought in.”
