PRETTY WEDDING AT MOUNT EDEN

BRIDE WEARS FROCK OF PALE CAMEO PINK . WILSON—PEEK A pretty wedding took place at St. Barnabas’s Church, on Wednesday afternoon, January 1, when Miss Kathleen Ellen Peek, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Peek, of Mount Eden, was married to Mr. William Thomas Wilson, second son of Mr. W. T. Wilson, of Wellington. The Rev. Mr. Bamford

officiated. THE bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of pale cameo georgette, with a long, tiered skirt. Her veil was of pink brussels net, and she carried a bouquet of flowers in the same shade. In attendance on the bride was Miss Aileen Horscroft, who wore a dainty frock of lemon georgette with a hat of mauve tulle. Her bouquet was of flowers to match her frock. Mr. G. Nicholls was best man, and Mr. C. Peek presided at the organ. A reception was held later at the kiosk. Mount Eden, the bride’s mother receiving the guests in an ensemble of navy blue crepe de chine. A bouquet of autumn tints was carried.

Later, the bride travelled in a frock of floral georgette under a coat of summer tweed.

CONTINENTAL STEW Ingredients: lib meat —beef, mutton or poultry can be used, but it must be on the fat side; 2 onions; ilb prunes; about 1 tablespoonful sugar; salt and pepper to taste. Soak the prunes in cold water for a few hours before using. Cut the meat in to pieces and put into a covered pan to fry, together with the onions, which should be cut into slices, and salt and pepper to taste. When the onion has browned a little add water and stew gently till the meat is half done. Wash the prunes, add them to the meat, with more water if necessary, and continue to stew till the prunes are done, leaving only a little juice. Add the sugar toward the end. Serve piping hot, with potatoes.
