CIVIC THEATRE
NEW PROGRAMME TODAY From today the Civic Theatre is presenting an entirely new programme, with both new musical and dancing items and new pictures. A complete entertainment in itself is promised in. the new stage show organised by Ted Henkel, entitled “Divertissement.” The items by the Stage Band and the Civic Ballet will include “A Bouquet of Flowers," “Dance Eccentrique” and the Breakaway Dance by the ballet, a novelty Introduction to the different members of Mr. Henkel’s
band, also another brilliant dance by Ramon and Madeline. At the grand organ Fred Scholl will play Paderewski’s “Minuet” and “The Clown,” and for the overture the Civic Unit Orchestra of 30 players will present Suppe’s “Morning, Noon and Night.”
The chief feature on the pictorial Yfill be the a!l"ttilkiiis aerial drama "flight” starring Jack Holt, Ralph Graves and Lila Lee. following foolish play in an annual Harvard-Yale football match, “Lefty” Phelps (Graves), who won the game for the opposing side by running to the wrong goal, joins the flying squad of the Marines. He is placed under the instruction of "Panama” Williams (Holt), a daredevil aviator. Williams, who was present at the eventful football game, recognises Lefty. Realising the lad feels the whole world is against him, Williams becomes friendly with Lefty. They become real pals. Lefty falls In love at first sight with Hlinor, a nurse at the base. _ , Lefty would have been transferred to some other service had it not been for Williams, who requested that the lad be made his mechanic. Together they leave for Nicaragua to assist in quelling a bandit uprising. Elinor follows them on the supply The days that follow are filled with exciting adventure, daring deeds in the air and thrilling skirmishes with bandits.
