CHARGED WITH HOMICIDE
Cinema Manager Arrested SEQUEL TO PAISLEY DISASTER Pathetic Procession of Victims United FA.—By Telegraph—Copyright Received 11.15 a.m. LONDON, Thursday. CHARLES UOKWARD, manager of the Glen Cinema at Paisley, has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide.
The Paisley town councillors perlonally visited the homes o£ those bereaved by yesterday’s cinema disaser to inquire if a mass public funeral were desired. It was decided that it would be better for the parents to carry out their ,i»n arrangements, the council merely providing the needy with grave sites. There were pathetic scenes at the mortuary, when many of the volunteers engaged in preparing for the burial of the bodies of the little vic-
tims broke down under the ordeal, and had to be replaced by others. Hearses conveying the bodies to the homes passed between long lines of weeping men and women. All the injured are progressing except one with a fractured skull, whose condition is critical. The relief fund has reached £3,000, including a gift of £I,OOO from a Paisley draper. Five families lost two or more children in the tragedy.
