VALUES SIMILAR TO LATE RATES GOOD DEMAND APPARENT .Scarcely any change on values ruling a fortnight ago was reported at the first Westfield fat stock sale for the New Year, conducted today. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, reported the penning of 359 head of cattle, comprising 240 steers and 117 cows and heifers principally. There wero good quality lines offering and a steady demand was apparent. Generally, the values were much the same as those obtained at the previous sale. There was a good attendance of buyers. Quotations included: Extra choice ox beef. £ 2 2s a 1001 b; choice and prime ox beef, .El 19s to €2 Is; other ox beef, £1 17s to £1 18s 6d; prime young cow and heifer beef, £1 14s to £1 17s 6d; ordinary, £1 10s to £1 13s.
