NEW AIR LINE OPENS
KINGSFORD SMITH PIONEERS SYDNEY SERVICE SYDNEY, Wednesday. .Australian National Airways, Ltd., will today begin the new air service between Sydney and Brisbane, with giant Fokker machines similar to the Efouthern Cross. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith will inaugurate the service with a full complement of passengers. He will take greetings from the Governor of New South Wales, Sir Dudley de Chair, to the Governor of Queensland, Sir John Goodwin. PLANE FORCED DOWN GIANT FOKKER DAMAGED PASSENGERS ESCAPE Reed. 9.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Inaugurating the air service from Brisbane to Sydney today, the National Airway’s monoplane, carrying seven passengers and mails, had to make a forced landing after crossing Into New South Wales. The plane landed in a ploughed paddock. The under-carriage of the new Giant Fokker was severely damaged, hut nobody was injured.
