REGATTA AT PICTON
MARLBOROUGH ROWERS MEET Press Association BLENHEIM, Wednehday. The Marlborough annual rowing regatta was held at Picton today in excellent weather and a record crowd witnessed the races. All clubs affiliated to the Marlborough and Wellington centres were represented, except Arapawa. Star (Wellington) was the most successful, annexing four out of tep events. Results were: Alaiden Fours, 1 mile.—Star, 1 ; Petone, 2; Wairau, 3. Also started: Wellington, Picton, Blenheim. Won by three lengths. Time, 6m 23 3-ss. Senior Fours, 2 miles.—Picton, 1; Wairau, 2; Blenheim, 3. The only startei-s.. Won by a length. Time, 12m 13 2-ss. Single Sculls, 15 miles.—Picton (C. Tarrant), 1. Only starter. Senior Pairs, It miles.—Wairau, 1; Star, 2. Won by two lengths. The only starters. Youths’ Fours, 1 mile.—Wairau No. 1, 1; Petone, 2; Blenheim No. 1, 3. Also started: Wairau No. 2, Blenheim No. 2, Star, Picton. Won by four lengths. Time, 6m 39 2-ss. Junior Pairs, 1 mile.—Star, 1; Wairau, 2; Picton, 3. Also started: Blenheim, Petone, Wellington. Won by a length. Time, 7m 6 1-5. Light-weight Alaiden Fours, 1 mile.— Blenheim, 1; Wellington, 2; Wairau, 3. The only starters. Won by a length. Time, 6m 30 l-ss. Alaiden Pairs, 1 mile.—Star, 1; Wellington, 2: Petone, 3. Won by three lengths. Time, 7m 16 l-ss. Junior Fours, 15 miles.—Blenheim, 1; Wairau, 2; Picton, 3. Won easily. Time, 10m 46 l-ss. Maiden Double Sculls, 1 mile.—Star, 1; Wairau, 2; Picton, 3. The only starters. Won by seven lengths. Time, 8m Is.
