RANGITATA SEAMAN FINED Walking off with a suitcase when he was drunk yesterday, Samuel Baden Powell was chased by the manager of an auction room and caught. At the Police Court this morning he was fined £l. „ Powell, a seaman aged 29, from tlie Ra.ngita.ta, pleaded guilty to the theft of a suitcase valued at 8s 6d from the Auckland Auctioneering Company. According to Chief-Detective Hammond. drink was responsible for accused’s action. Default of the line was fixed at three days’ imprisonment.
