ROAD CONDITIONS
NORTH ATTRACTS MANY MOTORISTS Reports received this morning by the Auckland Automobile Association concerning the various roads throughout the province, advised that the conditions for touring motorists were very fair but owing to tbe bad weather forecasts from all quarters it was impossible to predict all roads to be in a favourable condition over the New Y’ear. Large numbers of motorists have chosen the North of Auckland for their tour, and are experiencing good conditions, •with all the roads In fair order. According to the , report received -this morning the sky was overcast and rain threatened. A heavy shower of rain would make if, difficult for inexperienced drivers over the clay gap between Helensville and Maungaturoto, which is the main bugbear of touring in the North. Conditions this morning were favourable in the South of the province, although rain was also threatening in that quarter. The Auckland Automobile Association advise that the workmen have now resumed work arid on the Te Kuiti-New Plymouth road motorists should be careful of the large numbers o£ men working, and lorries in use, ’
