SPEECH AT INDIAN CONGRESSS INDEPENDENCE MOVE Reed. 10 a.m. DELHI, Monday. The Indian National Congress, through the Subjects Committee, definitely decided to suppoi-t Mi-. Gandhi's motion for independence and to boycott the Legislatures. The pandit, Jawaharial Nehru, in his presidential speech, appealed to the country to sever its connection with Britain. For the attainment of this he advocated, the non-payment of taxes in specific areas, the calling of general strikes by workers, and by a complete boycott of the Legislatures.
