January 13 —North Shore Club general meeting. January 25—Car and cycle races at Muriwai. February—Dance and prize night of the North Shore Club. March —North Shore Club's championship meeting at Orewa. March —Grass track races at Takapuna. SPEEDWAY DISPUTE SPORTS CLUB AFFECTED OFFICIALS MAY RESIGN The position of officials of the Sports Motor-Cyclo Club who take part in races on the Auckland cinder track not recognised by the AutoCycle Union, with which the Sports Club is affiliated, will be considered at a meeting of the club to be held on January 7. It is stated that a number of resignations will be asked for, and that a number cf the present committee members, including the secretary, Mr. M. Fletcher, have already announced their intention of resigning. A meeting of the Sports Club held ou Tuesday. November 5, discussed the control of the cinder sport in Auckland and decided that the present position is not satisfactory. Petitions were prepared and forwarded to the Auto-Cycle Union asking that the rule allowing only one affiliated track in each centre be reconsidered. There were no dissentients. Later, the club passed a resolution affirming its loyalty to the union. Speakers made it plain that this was done only as a policy move, since the club must retain its affiliation with the union to be able to stage race meetings. The club has no jurisdiction over its riders and cannot direct members to race at any particular track. This latest move by certain of the officials will, if it is successful, affect many of the committee members, including the president and two vicepresidents. The Sports Club has lost caste considerably among motorcyclists of late, and it is thought that this trouble may lead to the club being disbanded.

It is hoped to have a good attendance of members in order to settle this dispute permanently.
