Four People Injured in Capsize Over Bank
FALL OF 80 FEET SMASH AT WAIRAKEI From, Our Own Correspondent ROTORUA, Monday. Skidding ill loose shingle on the highest point o£ the Geyser Valley Road, Wairakei, late this afternoon, a heavy car carrying six passengers left the track and somersaulted down the hill, strewing its passengers over various points of an 80ft fall. The driver, Mr. J. Williamson, of the publishing department of the “Dominion,” Wellington, was badly shaken and cut about the face. Mrs. Williamson received a fractured shoulder; Mrs. C. Coop, Petone, was badly cut about the head and suffered from concussion; and Mrs. J. Lockwood, Wellington, received a fractured jaw. The party was on a tour of the North Island. The injured were admitted to the Rotorua Hospital. The car was wrecked.
