W AIOTAPU SAILING.— In continuation of her voyage from the Pacific Coast ports, the Union Company’s Waiotapu is to leave Auckland at 7 o’clock this evening for Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. NARBADA REPORTS. — a radio message received by the local office of the Union Company, the chartered steamer Narbada, en route from Calcutta and way ports, is expected td*-arrive at Auckland on Thursday morning. After discharge here, the vessel proceeds to Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff to complete discharge. MAKURA LEAVES 'FRISCO.—Advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the R.M.S. Makura left San Francisco last Wednesday -at 3 p.m. for Papeete. Rarotonga, Wellington and Sydney. She is due at Wellington on January 13 and at Sydneyon January 18. POOLTA WITH HARDWOODS. —The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the steamer Poolta is at present loading hardwoods at Grafton and leaves on Friday for Newcastle, where she fills up for Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Dunedin and New Plymouth.

THE CANADIAN EXPLORER. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Explorer is reported to have reached Halifax from Auckland via New York and Boston, on December 27. She sailed from Auckland on November 14. RUAPEHU CLEARS PUNTA ARENAS —The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the liner Ruapehu, en route from New Zealand for Home, arrived at Purita Arenas on December 18 and left again the following day for Southampton. MAUN GAN UI FROM SYDNEY. Due at Auckland early tomorrow morning from Sydney, the Un-ion Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Maunganui later berths at the Queen’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. She is scheduled to leave Auckland at 3 p.m. next Friday on her return trip to Sydney. ELAX ARRIVES TONIGHT.— A radio message received by the local branch of the Shell Company from the tanker Elax states that she.expects to arrive in the stream from Balikpapan (Borneo) at 11 o’clock tonight. She is to berth at Western Wharf tomorrow morning to put out the local portion of her cargo of motor spirit into the company’s tanks at Freeman’s Bay. • It is hoped to dispatch the Elax again on Thursday morning for Wellington to complete discharging. PHOSPHATES FROM NAURU. The Greek steamer Dionyssios Stalhatos (Captain Paxina) arrived from Nauru Island yesterday morning with a full cargo of phosphates. She is unloading a quantity of the eago at King's Wharf and will discharge the remainder at New Plymouth and Wanganui. Henderson and Macfarlane, the local agent, hopes to dispatch the vessel on Thursday. ARMADALE FROM NEW YORK. — With a cax-go of general Eastern American merchandise, the A. and A. Line’s chartered motor-ship Armadale arrived from New York on Satui'day evening, and berthed at Queen’s Wharf yesterdav morning. The vessel, which is owned by the Australind Shipping Companv, is on her maiden voyage. She cleared New York on November 22 and had a generally fair weather voyage. Captain A. P. Bach is in command, and he has with him the following officers:— Chief Mr. P. Crickmer; second, Mr. G. White; third, Mr. R. Large; fourth, Mr. J. Edwards; wireless operator, Mr. W. Bogle; chief engineer, Mr. R. Manner; senior second, Mr. W. Mackie; second, Mr. C. Davidson; third, Mr. A. McCulloch; junior third, Mr. D. Douglas; fourth, Mr. M. Macdonald; chief steward, Mr. R. Ramsay. The New Zealand Shipping Company hopes to dispatch the Armadale tomorrow for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharging. AORANGI IN PORT.-AYesterday afternoon the Union Company’s R.M.M.S. Aorangi arrived at Auckland from Vancouver and way ports, and later berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to land passengers, mails and cargo. The vessel had an uneventful trip. Except for a moderate south-west gale experienced during the passage from Vancouver to Honolulu generally fair weather prevailed on the voyage. The average speed for the trip was 16.5 S knots, but during the passage from Vancouver to Honolulu the average speed was 16.82 knots.
